"The Burden of Nine Lives" Wins Best Screenplay at Stockholm City Film Festival

I am absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news from the Stockholm City Film Festival. Our film, "The Burden of Nine Lives," has just been awarded **Best Screenplay**. For me, this honor is particularly meaningful—it's a testament to the power of storytelling and the core of what I am most passionate about: writing.

Stockholm, the vibrant heart of Scandinavia, is a hub for cinematic creativity with numerous film festivals. Among these, the Stockholm City Film Festival stands out as a beacon for new voices in cinema. Organized by a dynamic group of young filmmakers, the festival champions international films while also offering seminars and master classes to deepen our understanding and appreciation of film.

Winning Best Screenplay is incredibly validating. It's not just a personal victory; it reflects the collective effort and energy of our entire cast and crew. When we first shared the script, the excitement it generated was palpable, and this award underscores that initial enthusiasm. It's rewarding to know that the foundation of our film—the screenplay—resonated so strongly not only with our team but also with the jury and the audience in Stockholm.

This accolade does more than just add a trophy to my shelf; it reinforces the compliments from people who’ve told me I’m a great writer and feeds the little kid inside me who has always dreamt of telling stories that move people. Despite the chaos of adulthood, moments like this let that kid soar, reminding me why I started writing in the first place.

Thank you to the Stockholm City Film Festival for this incredible honor, and a huge thank you to everyone who has supported "The Burden of Nine Lives." Your faith in this project has been unwavering, and each new accolade only strengthens my resolve to keep telling great stories.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this amazing journey. Each step forward is a celebration of what I love most; storytelling.

Cheers and much love,

Vega Montanez
